Fairbanks Transfer Motorcoach Driver


Position Summary

The role of the Fairbanks Transfer Motorcoach Driver is to provide safe transportation for guests and their luggage pre and post tour between their lodging and the Airport in Anchorage or Fairbanks. Transfer Motorcoach Drivers are responsible for all aspects involving the operation of the motorcoach. Transfer Motorcoach Drivers may also be responsible for safe transportation to and from the cruise ship terminal as well as other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

A Fairbanks Transfer Motorcoach Driver's duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the safe operation of the motorcoach
  • Ensuring the safety of all passengers
  • Loading and unloading luggage from the motorcoach storage areas
  • Assisting guests as they embark and disembark the motorcoach
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • The Transfer Motorcoach Driver's primary responsibility is SAFETY. Drivers are required to be punctual and Professional.
Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for a Fairbanks Transfer Motorcoach Driver position:

  • 21 years of age or older by May 1 of the year for which applying
  • Able to successfully pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
  • Must be willing to submit to pre-employment, random, post-accident, and just cause drug & alcohol testing
  • Possess a valid state commercial drivers license.
  • Must be able to handle baggage and able to lift 50 - 75 pounds repeatedly
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or able to provide verification of authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Successfully complete a driver training program and pass all associated tests
  • A current Commercial Drivers License (Class B) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements and a minimum of 2 years motorcoach driving experience in Alaska is preferred; however RCT will provide CDL training to qualified applicants 
Minimum Qualifications (continued):

Cannot have the following moving violations within the previous 3 years:

  • Driving 15 mph or more over the posted speed limit
  • Following vehicle ahead too closely
  • Improper or erratic lane change
  • Reckless driving
  • A violation arising in connection with a fatal accident (other than a parking violation)

Cannot have the following convictions:

  • DWI
  • DUI
  • Refusal to undergo such testing as required by any State or jurisdiction
  • More than 1 moving violation within the previous 2 years
  • Leaving the scene of an accident
  • Commission of a felony

Training Timeline:

The majority of the training will occur with a RCT driver trainer in flexible one-on-one driving sessions starting in April/May. There may also be a few evening group classroom sessions and possibly an occasional Saturday session.

Wages:

First year Transfer Motorcoach Driver - $12.00/hour + gratuities and per diem

Training Wage $7.50/hour

Overtime wages are paid at 1 1/2 times the regular rate of pay for the hours in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.

Bonus:

Upon successful completion of the assignment, you will be eligible for a Longevity Bonus calculated at 10% of your gross wages (regular and overtime) earned during this assignment. 

Benefits:
