Transportation Coordinator


Position Summary

The Transportation Coordinator acts as a liaison between managers, supervisors, and field staff within the Motorcoach Operations department. The Transportation Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining all daily operations documents, driver rooming lists, and driver hours of service auditing as outlined by the Department of Transportation. Also, the Transportation Coordinator acts as a field coordinator on ship turn days and designated days at the Alaska Railroad Depot.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties of the Transportation Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Handle communications for the motorcoach operations including email, phone, and radio traffic
  • Generate motorcoach dispatch, vehicle tracker, driver rooming lists, and vehicle wash list
  • Fuel vehicles
  • Audit driver hours of service logbooks and timesheets
  • Act as a field coordinator and troubleshoot operations problems/issues
  • Handle operational emergencies as necessary and contact appropriate management
  • Maintain accurate operational asset and equipment inventory
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:

The Transportation Coordinator must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as an applicant:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid drivers license and a good driving record that falls within the guidelines of Royal Celebrity Tours
  • Be willing to submit to pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • A US citizen or able to provide verification of authorization to work in the US
  • Must be able to handle baggage and lift 50-75 pounds repeatedly
Training Timeline:
Once hired, RCT will provide you with a thorough training program via classroom and on-the-job training.
 
Wages:
First year Transportation Coordinator - $14.00/hr

Overtime wages are paid at 1 1/2 times the regular rate of pay for the hours in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.

Bonus:
Upon successful completion of the assignment, you will be eligible for a Longevity Bonus calculated at 10% of your gross wages (regular and overtime) earned during this assignment. 
 
Benefits:
If hired prior to July 1st, and upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be eligible for a cruise on Royal Caribbean International or Celebrity Cruises at a highly discounted employee rate.
