Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant performs a variety of intermediate accounting and clerical tasks. Processes weekly payroll for all seasonal employees, reconciles and prepares workbooks from daily receipts for Land Excursion and On Board Rail sales, as well as performs general clerical duties required by department supervisor in the Anchorage Motorcoach operations office.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Process daily receipts and reconciliation
Collect and transmit payroll data on a timely basis
Assist with Human Resources paperwork processing
Assist managers/supervisors with general office duties
Complete other tasks as assigned
Perform related duties as required with or without accommodation
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates for the Staff Accountant position must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as an applicant:
Be 18 years of age prior to March 1, 2009
Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test.
Be a U.S. citizen or show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
Proficient in in use of computer business applications, primarily Microsoft Excel
Previous cash handling experience is preferred
Possess basic clerical skills, some supervisory experience preferred
Able to work March through mid-September
Training Timeline
Once hired, all candidates will receive thorough training.
Housing
The Staff Accountant is responsible for his/her own housing. Out-of-state employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from Alaska.
Wages & Bonuses
First year Staff Accountant - $12.00/hour
The Staff Accountant will be eligible for a bonus of 10% of gross wages, upon completion of his/her contract.
