Pier Coordinator


Position Summary

The role of a Pier Coordinator is to support check-in agents during embarkation at the cruise ship port in Seward, Alaska. This support includes collecting balances due on guest’s accounts and assisting with sales and upgrades of available staterooms. Pier Coordinators provide administrative, reporting and problem solving support throughout the arrival check-in process. THIS IS A ONE DAY A WEEK POSITION.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities of Pier Coordinators include but are not limited to:

  • Collect balance dues and assist with sales and upgrades of available staterooms as well as aid in the embarkation of employees, workers, entertainers and families of crew members
  • Administer the ship check-in process which includes but is not limited to directing guests, using the check-in computers, and filing paperwork
  • Answer guest questions relating to the embarkation process
  • Resolve guest service issues if the Pier Supervisor and Pier Assistant Supervisor are unavailable
  • Coordinate with shipboard personnel concerning availability and payment of staterooms
  • Complete personal property reports for damaged or lost luggage
  • Provide the ship with an accurate manifest at sailing and send all reports to GPS at close of day
  • Assist with training Pier Check-in Agents
  • Performs other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:

Pier Coordinators must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as an applicant:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or able to provide verification of authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Be able to work in a team environment with other company employees, shipboard personnel and terminal security staff
  • Have excellent guest service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Able to respond to and provide solutions to common inquiries or complaints from guests
  • Previous experience as a Pier Check-In Agent preferred
 
 
 
 
Training Timeline:
Once hired, RCT will provide you with a thorough training program via classroom and on-the-job training.
 
Wages:
First year Pier Coordinators - $12.00/hr

Overtime wages are paid at 1 1/2 times the regular rate of pay for the hours in excess of 8 hours per day.

Bonus:
Upon successful completion of the assignment, you will be eligible for a Longevity Bonus calculated at 10% of your gross wages (regular and overtime) earned during this assignment. 
 
Benefits:
If hired prior to July 1st, and upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be eligible for a cruise on Royal Caribbean International or Celebrity Cruises at a highly discounted employee rate.
