The role of the Assistant Pier Supervisor is to supervise terminal operations for both disembarkation and embarkation of cruise ship passengers. The Assistant Pier Supervisor supervises the terminal set up for disembarking all independent and train guests. Afterward, the Assistant Pier Supervisor oversees the set up of the terminal for embarking guests and is then on site to help staff and guests with any check-in questions or concerns.
Primary responsibilities of the Assistant Pier Supervisor include but are not limited to:
Supervise terminal staff through the disembarkation and embarkation process. This includes but is not limited to setting up the terminal and answering all questions related to check-in.
Resolve any guest service issues in the event that the Pier Supervisor is unavailable
Coordinate embarkation with shipboard personnel such as the Embarkation and IT officers
Administer morning and afternoon meetings with check-in agents before starting embarkation
Monitor the behavior of terminal staff to make sure that all comply with Guest Port Services standards
Check-in guests should additional assistance be needed
Send personal property reports for mispalced or damaged luggage to Anchorage Operations
Assist the Pier Supervisor with the training of Seward GSRs
Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Pier Asst Supervisors must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as an applicant:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Be willing to submit to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
A US citizen or can provide verification of authorization to work in the US
Previous guest/customer service experience
Proven supervisory experience
Training Timeline
Once hired, the Pier Supervisor will conduct the majority of training via on-the-job training.
Housing
Pier Asst Supervisors are responsible for their own housing. Out-of-state employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from Alaska.
Wages & Bonuses
First year Pier Asst Supervisor - $13.00/hr
All Pier Asst Supervisors will be eligible for a bonus of 10% of gross wages, upon completion of their contract.
