Onboard Manager

The role of the Onboard Manager is to oversee the daily operations of the railcar consist while en route to and from Anchorage.

Primary responsibilities of the Onboard Manager include but are not limited to:

Supervising and motivating onboard staff

Monitoring quality and sanitation of food service areas

Managing cash handling, accounting and daily reporting functions

Serving as a liaison between onboard staff and management

Resolving customer service, personnel, computer and maintenance issues as needed

Ensuring that all safety standards are met

Minimum Qualifications

Onboard Managers must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as an applicant:

Be 21 years of age prior to May 1, 2008

Possess a current CPR and First Aid Certificate

Posses previous supervisory, public speaking and food and beverage experience.

Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs

Possess a current Food Manager certification. (Training will be provided)

Possess a current TAMs card (Training will be provided)

Be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test

Be a U.S. citizen or show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Must be able to work a full season (early-May to mid-September.)

Able to manage a team, in close quarters, of 12 crewmembers.

Training Timeline

Once hired, all candidates will participate in a thorough training program starting in May.

Housing

Employees are responsible for their own housing while not on tour. While on duty RCT will provide dorm style, company housing in Fairbanks. Out-of-state employees are responsible for providing their own transportation to Alaska and housing while in Anchorage.

Wages & Bonuses

First year Onboard Manager $14.00/hour

Employees will be eligible for a bonus of 10% of gross wages upon completion of their contract.

The Onboard Manager will work an alternating schedule. The first week will be four 16-hour days and the following week will be four 16-hour days plus an additional 18-hour day on the Anchorage to Seward train.

Benefits

After successful completion of a full season contract RCT employees are eligible for a cruise of up to 14 days on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruise Lines at a highly discounted employee rate.
