Motorcoach Driver-Local FAI
The role of Motorcoach Drivers in Fairbanks is to provide SAFE transportation for guests between hotels and the airport. three positions. 32-40 hours per week.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the SAFETY of everyone on the motorcoach
  • Assisting guests on and off the motorcoach
  • Loading and unloading luggage
  • Maintaining all Department of Transportation paperwork
  • Cleaning the interior and exterior of local motorcoaches
  • Providing brief but helpful informaton to guests

    Minimum Qualifications
    Motorcoach Drivers must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as applicants:

    • Current Class B Commercial Driver's License with passenger and air brake endorsements is desirable but not a pre-requisite for consideration. RCT will train qualified candidates.
    • 21 years of age or older by April 1 of the year for which applying
    • Successfully pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
    • Submit to pre-employment, random, post-accident, and just cause drug & alcohol testing
    • Possess a valid Alaska state drivers license or able to obtain an Alaska state drivers license once hired
    • Cannot have the following moving violations within the previous 3 years:
        (1) Driving 15 mph or more over the posted speed limit
        (2) Following vehicle ahead too closely
        (3) Improper or erratic lane change
        (4) Reckless driving
        (5) A violation arising in connection with a fatal accident (other than a parking violation)
    • Cannot have the following convictions:
        (1) DWI
        (2) DUI
        (3) Refusal to undergo such testing as required by any State or jurisdiction
        (4) More than 1 moving violation within the previous 2 years
        (5) Leaving the scene of an accident
        (6) Commission of a felony
    • Handle baggage and repeatedly lift 50-75 pounds
    • U.S. citizen or able to provide verification of authorization to work in the U.S.
    • Possess a current CPR certificate and First Aid card
    • Successfully complete a driver training program and pass all associated tests
    • Good communication and people skills
    • Work early morning, late evening and/or week-end shifts
     
    Training Timeline
    The majority of the training will be conducted by a Royal Celebrity Tours driver-trainer in one-on-one driving sessions. Training in the day-to-day operations will be conducted by the Operations Manager and Supervisors.
     
    Housing
    This position is based in Fairbanks. Employees are responsible for their own housing. Out-of-state employees are responsible for transportation to and from Alaska.
     
    Wages & Bonuses
    First year: $13.00 per hour. Employees are eligible for a bonus of 10% of gross wages upon completion of the work agreement. The training wage for first year RCT drivers is $7.50/hour.
     
    Benefits
    Employees who start working prior to July 1, 2008 and who successfully complete their work agreement are eligible for a highly discounted cruise of up to 14 days on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruise Lines.
