Luggage Handler - FAI
Fairbanks Luggage Handlers load/unload large quantities of heavy luggage into coach boys for transport to the airport and hotels. They are crucial to efficient and timely guest transfers.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lift, move, load, and unload luggage
  • Gather and receive luggage from guests or bell staff
  • Assist guests with identification and movement of luggage
  • Assist Fairbanks Airport Supervisors to locate and transport delayed or misplaced luggage
  • Serve as a Fairbanks Guest Service Representative as needed

Minimum Qualifications
Luggage Handlers must meet the following criteria to be considered as applicants:

  • Repeatedly lift and move 50-75 pounds
  • At least 18 years of age by May 1, 2010
  • Valid Alaska driver's license and a good, safe driving record such as no more than one moving violation or at-fault accident in the last three years
  • Willing and able to drive seven passenger vans
  • Submit to pre-employment drug test
  • U.S. citizen or can provide proof of authorization to work in the United States
  • Work early morning, late evening and/or week-end shifts
 
Training Timeline
Once hired, the Operations Manager and Supervisors will provide the necessary training to do a great job.
 
Housing
This position is based in Fairbanks. Employees are responsible for their own housing. Out-of-state employees are responsible for their transportation to and from Alaska.
 
Wages & Bonuses
First year: $10.00 per hour. Employees are eligible for a bonus of 10% of gross wages upon completion of their contract.
 
Benefits
Employees who start working prior to July 1, 2010 and who successfully complete their work agreement are eligible for a highly discounted cruise on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruise Lines.
