Ground Support
The role of Ground Support is to clean the exterior of the railcars and ensure that each railcar is stocked with food, beverage, gift shop and cleaning supplies prior to each daily departure. This position is located in the Anchorage Rail Office.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Stocking all requested items on the railcar and completing all related paperwork
Maintaining par levels and rotating food and beverage inventory
Performing a variety of detail and cleaning tasks including the exterior of the railcars
Operating a manlift
Cleaning and sanitizing work area
Handling a variety of chemicals safely and responsibly
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates for Ground Support position must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as an applicant:
Be 18 years of age prior to May 1, 2008
Be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
Be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test
Be a U.S. citizen or show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
Be able to work a full season (mid-May to mid-September.)
Be able to work with minimum supervision, night shift only
Training Timeline
Once hired, all candidates will receive a thorough training program starting in May.
Housing
Employees are responsible for their own housing. Out-of-state employees are responsible for providing their own transportation to Alaska and housing while in Anchorage.
Wages & Bonuses
First year Railcar Stocker $11.00/hour
Employees will be eligible for a bonus of 10% of gross wages upon completion of their contract. The work schedule is approximately 35 - 40 hours per week.
Benefits
After successful completion of a full season contract RCT employees are eligible for a cruise of up to 14 days on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruise Lines at a highly discounted employee rate.
