Friday Luggage Handler
The role of a Friday Luggage Handler (Luggage Handler) is to assist Luggage Truck Drivers and Motorcoach Drivers in the loading and unloading of cruise ship guest's baggage onto luggage trucks during ship days. Luggage handlers help guests with their luggage at Anchorage area hotels as well as the Anchorage airport all while keeping accurate counts. Luggage handlers watch guest's bags until they are claimed and check guest's identification to make sure that all bags are claimed by the correct owner.
Responsibilities of the Luggage Handlers include but are not limited to:
Meet and greet guests as they arrive at the Anchorage airport and assist them with luggage in the baggage terminal
Meet and greet guests at the Hospitality Center and assist with luggage as necessary
Load and unload luggage onto trucks while maintaining accurate counts
Work closely with hotels' bell staff and other RCT field staff
Assist in the location and expediting of lost or misplaced luggage
Handle and resolve any guest service issues in a timely and appropriate manner
Provide clear and concise directions to luggage truck drivers relating to hotel and airport operations
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Luggage Handlers must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as an applicant:
Must be 16 years of age as of May 15, 2010
Available from May 10 - September 10, 2010
A US citizen or can provide verification of authorization to work in the US
Be willing to submit to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
Able to lift 50-75 pounds repetitively
Training Timeline
Once hired, RCT will provide you with the necessary training to do a great job. The Luggage Handler Lead will conduct the majority of this training via on-the-job training.
Housing
Housing in the Anchorage area is the responsibility of the employee. Out-of-state employees are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from Alaska.
Wages & Bonuses
First year Luggage Handler - $10.00/hour
All Luggage Handlers will be eligible for a bonus of 10% of gross wages, upon completion of their contract.

After successful completion of a full season contract, RCT employees are eligible for a cruise on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruise Lines at a highly discounted employee rate.
