Friday Luggage Handler Lead
The role of the Friday Luggage Handler Lead (Luggage Lead) is to oversee all Friday Luggage Handlers in the loading and unloading of cruise ship guest's baggage onto luggage trucks on ship days. The luggage Lead assists the Guest Service Representative Supervisors in helping guests with their luggage at the Anchorage airport while keeping accurate counts.
Primary responsibilities of the Friday Luggage Handler Lead include but are not limited to:
Supervise Luggage Handlers in the meeting and greeting of guests as they arrive at the Anchorage airport and assist with luggage in the baggage terminal
Monitor staff in secure areas at the Anchorage airport
Load and unload luggage onto trucks while maintaining accurate counts
Assist in the location and expediting of lost or misplaced luggage
Secure luggage trucks by placing a seal on all loaded trucks. Fax security manifest to Seward terminal
Record arrival and departure times of luggage trucks at the Anchorage airport
Handle and resolve any guest service issues in a timely and appropriate manner
Provide clear and concise directions to luggage truck drivers relating to airport and hotel operations
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
The Luggage Handler Lead must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as an applicant:
Must 18 years old as of May 1, 2010
Must be available to work May 3 - September 10, 2009
Possess a valid drivers license and a good, safe driving record (no more than one moving violation or at fault accident in the last three years)
Be willing to submit to drug and alcohol testing
A US citizen or can provide verification of authorization to work in the US
Training Timeline
Once hired, RCT will provide you with the necessary training to do a great job. The Luggage Supervisor will conduct the majority of this training starting in May.
Housing
The Luggage Handler Lead position is based in Anchorage and is responsible for his/her own housing. Out-of-state employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from Alaska.
Wages & Bonuses
First year Luggage Handler Lead- $11.00/hr
The Luggage Handler Lead will be eligible for a bonus of 10% of gross wages, upon completion of their contract.
