Fairbanks Rail Mechanic

Position Summary

The role of the Fairbanks Rail Mechanic is to perform preventative and routine maintenance on the railcars to ensure safe operation. This position is located in Fairbanks.

Primary responsibilities of the Fairbanks Rail Mechanic include but are not limited to:

• Assist with all maintenance and mechanical tasks
• Conduct daily railcar inspections
• Perform routine maintenance checks and tasks
• Complete daily paperwork and maintenance records
• Performs other duties as assigned

Candidates for the Fairbanks Rail Mechanic position must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as an applicant:

• Be 18 years of age prior to May 1
• Able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs
• Have basic hand tools
• Employee will be require to provide and wear steel-toed work boots
• Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test and background check
• Have one year of maintenance and/or mechanical related experience
• Be a U.S. citizen or show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Able to work a full season (mid-May to mid-September)
• Able to work with minimum supervision

Once hired, RCT will provide you with a thorough training program via classroom and on-the-job training.

First year Fairbanks Rail Mechanic $16.00 - $18.00/hr DOE

Upon successful completion of the assignment, you will be eligible for a Longevity Bonus calculated at 10% of your gross wages (regular and overtime) earned during this assignment. 

If hired prior to July 1st, and upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be eligible for a cruise on Royal Caribbean International or Celebrity Cruises at a highly discounted employee rate.
