Dining Server

Position Summary

The Dining Server provides guests with food and beverage service in our full-service restaurant on the Wilderness Express railcars.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities of the Dining Server include but are not limited to:

• Provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner service for up to 240 guests per day
• Conducts inventories and places orders for supplies to be stocked onboard according to guest counts
• Greets guests and does menu/special presentation over microphone
• Ensures that all tasks related to the dining room and kitchen being prepared for meal service are complete
• Performs other duties as assigned

Candidates for the Dining Server position must meet the following criteria to be considered:

• Be 21 years of age prior to beginning work
• Be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs
• Possess a current Alaska Food Worker Card (Training will be provided)
• Possess a current TAPs card (Training will be provided)
• Be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test
• Be a U.S. citizen or show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to work a full season 
• Able to work as a team in close quarters with 5 other crewmembers

Once hired, RCT will provide you with a thorough training program starting in May.

First year Dining Server - $7.75/hour + gratuities

Overtime wages are paid at 1 1/2 times the regular rate of pay for the hours in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.

Upon successful completion of the assignment, you will be eligible for a Longevity Bonus calculated at 10% of your gross wages (regular and overtime) earned during this assignment. 

If hired prior to July 1st, and upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be eligible for a cruise on Royal Caribbean International or Celebrity Cruises at a highly discounted employee rate.
