Cruise Service Team Leader


Position Summary

The role of the Cruise Service Team Leader is to oversee operations at the Hospitality Center on ship days including meeting and greeting of guests, ship check-in, transfer arrangements, and transfer arrivals and departures. The Cruise Service Leader assists the Anchorage Guest Service Coordinators in facilitating guest arrivals and departures via motorcoach and train. THIS IS A ONE DAY A WEEK POSITION.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Primary responsibilities of the Cruise Service Team Leader include but are not limited to:
  • Supervise Cruise Service Representatives at the Anchorage Hospitality Center
  • Monitor Cruisetrain transfer sales. Verify all transfer vouchers are sent to the ship for processing
  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the Hospitality Center
  • Assist guests with their transfer arrangements to Seward via motorcoach or train service. Sell guests a transfer if needed
  • Provide guests with directions and any necessary information
  • Handle and resolve any guest service issues
  • Assist guests in filling out check-in documentation
  • Clarify Immigration documentation requirements
  • Ensure the security of checked carry-on luggage until claimed by guest
  • Work closely with hotels' staff and other RCT field personnel
  • Coordinate motorcoach arrivals and departures with the Anchorage GSR Coordinator and Cruise Luggage Handler Lead
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
 
The Cruise Service Team Leader must meet the following criteria in order to be considered as an applicant:
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or able to provide verification of authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must be available to work mid-May thru mid-September
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Proven supervisory experience preferred
  • Be able to work in a team environment
  • Have excellent guest service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management and employees
  • Be able to respond to and provide solutions to common inquiries or complaints from guests
  • Be able to lift 25 pounds repetitively and stand for extended periods of time
Training Timeline:

Once hired, RCT will provide you with a thorough training program via classroom and on-the-job training.

Wages:

First year Cruise Service Team Leader - $12.00/hr

Overtime wages are paid at 1 1/2 times the regular rate of pay for the hours in excess of 8 hours per day.

Bonus:

Upon successful completion of the assignment, you will be eligible for a Longevity Bonus calculated at 10% of your gross wages (regular and overtime) earned during this assignment. 

Benefits:

If hired prior to July 1st, and upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be eligible for a cruise on Royal Caribbean International or Celebrity Cruises at a highly discounted employee rate.
